“When her mother passed away suddenly from an unknown affliction, her father began arranging her marriage immediately. There were plenty of suitors from all parts of the realm, yet the father only cared about the lordships he could acquire in the process. To that end, there was one offer far greater than all the others.
King Voryn provided more land and knights than all the other offers combined. He needed a queen and, more importantly, an heir, and no one who knew of his sinister nature would willingly offer him his daughter. Upon accepting the offer, her father brought her across the Salted Plains to Voryn's keep, which was surrounded by arid, crusty dirt.
Her life was miserable and she carried no hope in her heart. When she was permitted outside the gates for her short walks, she would go to the cemetery and collapse on the ground. King Voryn used molds of the deceased's legs as tombstones for no other reason than to incite fear in his subjects. The new queen would lay on her back and stare at the sky with her legs pointing up to the heavens, pretending she was among the dead and wishing ploy could trick the Gods into taking her as well.” -M.D. Walter
